Foster children in the "Mission Possible Foster Program", are a blessing to their foster parents and to their families. You folks, who are foster parents, will certainly be blessed By God someway, some day. We have some foster parents who have been faithful to never missing a payment since the beginning of the Program in 1982. Thank you for your faithful commitment. Your faithfulness has been a blessing to many children and their families. Foster Parents are a blessing to the foster child and his family in many ways. First the children are put in school, as without education there is no hope of breaking the curse of poverty. That means paying the entrance fee, school uniforms, and black leather shoes, plus books and school supplies. Without these things the poor cannot enter school. Another priority is overcoming malnutrition with soup kitchens and providing long neglected medical and dental care. We provide crutches, walkers, and wheel chairs to those in need. Another basic necessity is repairing the broken down house or building a new house with poles and estera panels ( woven reeds). Perhaps even more important is providing food for the soul and taking care of the spiritual needs of the family. All the children are given opportunity to take instructions for baptism and first communion. The parents are also given opportunity to receive marriage instructions and to be married in the church. It is sad to say that they never had this option before. Whether it is the death of a family member or the birth of a child, Mission Possible workers are there to give help, support, and a shoulder to cry on when needed. We who work so closely with these poor families get a glimpse of the possibilities of the future of these children. We are encouraged when their teachers tell us they are doing well in school with good marks.
